sleep? What?





































So I was doing some research on google, as I tend to do when I need information, and I found my answer to why we need sleep. Er, at least I thought I did. MSNBC states that the reason for sleep is still a mystery! A what!? Mystery indeed. At first scientists thought that sleep would shut down the brain while sleeping! Boy were they wrong. I could have told them that! I think more in my sleep than probably in the time I wake up until I get to work (unless I've had coffee). So why is it so important? Well, it helps to restore tissues, helps with daily activities and helps us to not be so crabby! *something I do when I lack sleep!* Yikes!

So my question is... Why am I still awake at 12:30 AM on a work night when I used to be asleep by 10 PM a few weeks ago? Why is my body allowing me to stay up later, get up earlier and still be okay for the day!? What's the catch? Maybe it's excitement of a new roommate, or the possibility of a new relationship... or perhaps I'm wanting to get so much done with my home that I tend to stay up way past my bedtime. Hmm, whatever it is, it doesn't bother me... I just want to be able to function the next day.

So here's to sleep and for those who are sleeping.... sweet dreams!
