Words can't not express this past weekend. I never would have in a million dreams imagined the greatness of my 30th birthday. I have some of the most amazing friends and family that a girl could ever ask for. Let me start from the beginning:
I decided that for my 30th birthday that I wanted to go to Las Vegas. I had thought about this since last winter. I wasn't really sure if it was going to happen. I just couldn't imagine people could afford it or would really want to spend that much money to go somewhere for my birthday. Yet, I thought, what the heck. I set up the evite and to suddenly people were responding. Everyone was excited to go and couldn't wait. I figured when it came down to it that people wouldn't be able to make it do to finances or other obligations. As soon as people started buying their flights and making travel arrangements, I knew it was actually happening and I became super excited.
When it came time to go, I discovered that my friend Amy would be able to be there, driving down from Utah. She picked me up from the airport on Thursday and took me to the Yard House where they had about 132 different beers on tap.
We ordered the "yard beers" and I had the pleasure of meeting her most awesome friend, Katie. We were also able to pick up my mom that night so that she could join us in all the fun. It was a wonderful first night and I will surely never forget it.
The next morning I woke up at the Luxor with the beautiful palm trees, mountains and pool outside my window. It was a most wonderful view and I couldn't wait to start the day. My sister had just landed and my mom and I proceeded to get ready for the day. By the time my mom and I finished up my sister had arrived and we decided to go explore the strip.
Our first stop was somewhere to eat. We ate some yum snack food and started drinking beer for the day. From there we headed to Caesar's Palace because we heard they were pager friendly. Becca did some shopping where my mom and I did some drinking and gambling. We continued our day just walking around drinking and shopping. I soon heard from my friends Brooke, Mishell, Megan and Matise. They all came in from Utah and California. We were going to meet at New York New York at the piano bar for some dueling pianos! But first I met up with Amy and Katie there to gamble and play some beer pong!
After our beer pong of fun we met up with the other girls for a great night of fun!!! We sang, danced and I had more fun than one should have. It was totally worth it!
Saturday, my birthday, I met up with my grandma and great aunt for breakfast and bloody marys. I am pretty sure I was still in the fun zone from the night before. I was so happy that my mom was there to guide me to my destination! Once we got back to the Luxor my sister had asked me to come down to the pool for some sun bathing fun. When I got there she had already got me a cabana and beer! What an awesome surprise!!! Then my friend Brenda and her friends came to join me to help celebrate my special day.
As I proceeded to enjoy this fabulous day, my friends Katie and Amy came to lay out as well. From there we all decided to get in the pool and hang out. I was just standing talking to people and suddenly up walks my friends Autumn and Lindsey! WHAT!?!? They were not supposed to be there! What was going on!? They came to surprise me for my special day! It was the coolest thing ever! Not only were many of my friends and family already there, but here walks up two more of my favorite friends to join in! This was awesome!
We hung out by the Cabana for some time before the weird storm came in! Then we decided, it was beer pong time in the lobby since we could be at the pool anymore. Strangely enough, we got kicked out of the lobby too... so you know, we just continued the party in the hotel room. From there we continued to have a blast. Brenda finally got a Fuhrman sandwich and we all just laughed and laughed. The day was amazing but it wasn't ending there.
We continued by getting ready, going to dinner and then heading to LAX for dancing club fun. The night ended on a high note and everyone had a blast! I was so very thankful for all my friends and family coming out. Thank you Becca, Mom, Amy, Brooke, Autumn, Lindsey, Mishell, Matise, Megan, Katie, Brenda, Nicole, Grandma, Mary and even Uncle Steve showed up and treated my mom and I to drinks! Autumn and I spent Sunday afternoon walking, drinking and visiting the wax museum. That night we went to Dick's and had an awesome time with the rude waiters and band! :) Thanks for the memories everyone! You are amazing people in my life and I love you all!
