Day 27- "A note a day keeps the funny alive"

Side Note:  I am bound and determined to finish my 30 days of friends even if it has taken me almost two months to complete.  :)

This next friend and I became friends in high school during my freshman year in cross country.  We started hanging out after running together one day at practice and the rest is really history.  We cruised the drag together, cruised the halls together, even went to sporting events together.  We were pretty much always together.  We would write notes in school and basically have a story going between them.  We would drive by our crushes houses to see if we could glance at them.  (Although one of my crushes lived to far away so we just watched for his truck)

Basically we just loved hanging out and doing everything together.  My junior summer we traveled to Seattle together with her parents and brother for the week and got to do many fun things like go to a Mariners game in the Kingdome and run by the bay and visit the ocean.

We always seemed to have a great time together.  This friend was a year older than me so she went away to college and I stayed behind for my senior year of high school.  I missed her a lot but knew that we would keep in touch.  Throughout the years we did just that.  I went to visit her a couple of times at Purdue and she came to New Jersey to visit me.  We also saw each other when we were both back home in the summers and Christmas time in Montana.  When she got married she asked me to be in her wedding and since then I've been able to visit her in Maryland and she came to see me one last time with her husband in Jersey before I moved to Minnesota.

Now with Facebook we are able to keep connected and check to see how each other are doing from time to time.  Her mom always sends me cookies on Valentine's Day and we both try to reach out and say hi every once in a while.  She is a kind, caring, loving person who is very talented and I am so happy that she has been in my life for so long.  I miss her and am happy that I can call her a forever friend!

Here's to you Stephanie!
