This friend and I first met because of my sister. My sister and she worked together and this friend was talking about getting a house but needed a roommate. My sister told her that I was moving to town and that I needed a place to live. She told her that I would be a perfect fit because we seemed to have a lot of similar interests. Well, she was pretty much on the right track because the moment we met we knew we would be a perfect fit.
I remember the first time I met this friend. She took me into a meeting room at the company she worked for and had a "mini" interview with me. It is kind of funny to look back now because I didn't think anything of it then, but it totally was! After our inital meeting I went back to New Jersey to finish up school and work until my big move at the end of July. About a week before I was leaving to come to Minnesota, I received a call from this friend telling me that she was thinking about getting a dog. I was totally excited for her and couldn't wait to meet the dog. Yet, then she said, yes I think the dog will be a perfect fit with Fro. I asked who Fro was and when I found out he was a cat... well, let's just say I got nervous and was not too sure about moving in anymore. (Those who know me well know that I do not like cats!)
Anyway, as the story goes, I ended up moving into this friend's house and tolerated the cat. ;) In the beginning, this friend took me out places, introduced me to her friends, etc. It was so great having the connections and the best part was, we got along so well!
We grew closer and closer throughout the next 11 months of my stay at her house. Then her boyfriend was moving in, so it gave me an opportunity to live alone for a while in my own place. As time has gone on she has been there for many things in my life. Although we are both extremly busy we make the time to see each other as often as we can.
She is one of the most selfless people I know. She will do anything for you, asked or not. Even during her wedding planning, she has taken time out of her busy schedule to do things for people. She is one of those people that you can rely on if need be. She just is amazing, kind, sweet, caring, and really any other positive adjective that you can think of! She is just awesome.
Next week she is getting married and I am so excited for her. I was asked to be in her wedding and am happy to be able to stand by her on her special day. She deserves nothing but happiness and I am wishing her the best possible day yet! I hope that no matter the obstacles she has had to endure getting to her special day, that in the end, everything will turn out for the best. Her and her family are some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet! I am so happy to know them and be a part of their lives and can't wait to continue to share memories and create them with this friend for a lifetime to come.
Here's to you Autumn. You are a forever friend and are always in my thoughts! Love you!
