Day 28- "GA friends in NewCastle Upon Tyne"

This next friend and I met in England while going to school.  I'm not actually sure that I remember how we met but I do remember meeting him a few days after being in my new home.  I was nervous that I wasn't going to meet any friends but I finally got the courage to say hi to my now friend Stephen, and from there I was introduced to many other Americans and one of my favorite Canadians.  :)

This friend and I hung out mostly as a group with everyone else.  We had a great time exploring England and learning about each other.  I only stayed for a semester while everyone else stayed for an entire year so I was bummed that I had to go back but was hoping that I would be able to stay in touch with everyone.  (This was pre-facebook for us!) 

I mostly stayed in touch with this friend.  He was really good at writing back so it made it easy.  Soon enough I was planning a trip to visit everyone in Atlanta.  It was great to see everyone and catch up.  This friend and I had a great time hanging out in Savannah that weekend going out to the clubs, etc.  It was a blast! 

The next time I visited Atlanta, we had a little reunion from back in our Newcastle days.  It was great to see everyone and I got to spend more time with this friend too.  He is a great friend who always listens, is fun to be around and cares about all his friends and family.  We have kept in touch throughout the years and thanks to Facebook have been able to keep in touch more than we probably would have in the past. 

It is always great to catch up and each other's lives are going.  He is always encouraging and there to listen if need be.  He is what a friend should be.

I am very happy to call him my friend!  Here's to you Shann!
